Self-Portraits
July 15, 2011
It's ART DAY today! Following our topic about how special we are in God's eyes, I reminded the kids about how God made each one of us unique. We talked about how we looked like and I asked them to describe themselves, especially their facial features. We also explored the self-portraits of Van Gogh and Picasso and discussed what the kids like about their work.
I then asked Riel and Aethan to draw their own portrait. I gave them an oval pattern that they can use for the head. I am not really good in Art (in fact, it's one of my weakest) and seeing my children's output, I can just say, 'You are so gracious, Lord, thank you!' :-)
The kids were happy with the results. Aethan said his kuya's drawing looks like Dad and Riel said he likes how Aethan colored his skin. :-)
Wow.. these are FANTASTIC! What a great job.. I love it when kids express themselves through art. It is the best :)
